Similar to the Advanced Sniper course, the Sniper Operator course is designed to both complement and further the basic skills class and is designed for the experienced team member or team commander to attend and revise old skills as well as learn new ones, with the objective to take them back to his unit. The course will cover much of the same topics as the Advanced Sniper course with the addition of live stalking exercises, ambush drills and terrorist methodologies. The Sniper Operator course will be broken down into the following five training days: Skills Day, Fieldcraft Day, Covert Day, Advanced Shooting Day and Counter-Terrorist Day.
The course will cover the following (not exhaustive) topics:
- Basic skill revision
- Application of fire 100-1,000 yards
- Glass shooting
- Urban hides
- Vehicle hides
- Coordinated shoot drills
- Intro to counter-sniper operations
- Principles of urban operations
- Shot placement
- Situational analysis
- Barrier shooting
- Angle shooting
- Fieldcraft
- Ambush / anti-ambush drills
NOTE* *This course is restricted to Military. Military ID will be checked the first day of class. **
CLASS DETAILS
- Class Duration: 5 days
- Weapons Required: Service Scoped rifle
- Ammunition: Minimum of 300 rds
- Web Gear: Issued service belt or suitable alternative
- Suitable attire: To include uniform or suitable equivalent for arduous conditions. (Clothing to be suitable for the time of year.)
- Steno Pad, Pen: Notes will need to be taken
- Class Location: Check Open Course Schedule for next available class.
