The purpose of this course is to give responding law enforcement a general and practical working knowledge in the following areas when responding to calls where someone is/or could be wounded, to include the responding officers themselves, and the extraction and subsequent immediate treatment to sustain life until transferred to a safer area and higher level of care.

The course will cover the following (not exhaustive) topics:

  • Basic understanding of preventable deaths
  • Kit and equipment set-up
  • 6 rules of immediate care and extraction
  • Self applied techniques
  • Weapon placement options to minimize further injury to wounded while maximizing deployment
  • Extraction of wounded
  • Extraction with specialty devices

NOTE* *This course is restricted to Mil/ LE and private contractors with valid credentials.  Military ID and LE commission cards will be checked the first day of class. **

CLASS DETAILS
  • Class Duration: 1 days
  • Weapons Required: Service handguns & rifle
  • Ammunition: Minimum of 100 rds handgun & 200 rds rifle
  • Suitable Attire: Clothing appropriate for setting & Full duty kit (if you wear it in your current field, bring it)
  • Required: Minimum of IFAK (Improved First Aid Kit Army or similar)
  • Other Supplies: Eye and Ear Protection, Water & Pedialyte, Steno Pad (no larger than 4x6) + Pen, Red lens flashlight (no white light will be allowed during drills, except for weapon lights), Food and snacks
