Craft 3 Day Basic Sniper
2 Day Advanced Sniper Training Program
(27hours /18 hours or 46 hours of Instruction)
The 3 Day Basic Sniper course is designed for new members of a unit who do not have the budget or timeline to attend a 5 day school. It is designed to give the operator the basic working knowledge and skill to safely deploy in a designated marksman role, and to further his/her skills as they progress in the unit. The class starts with safe weapon-handling skills and the instruction required to operate a sniper rifle under combat conditions. It will then progress to encompass all the relevant skills associated with sniper deployments and the decision-making process of using the sniper rifle system. The course will then role into a further 2 day period where 3 day students can leave, if they choose to and qualified snipers can arrive to carry out an arduous period of training to further their skills. This period will cover camouflage and concealment, range estimation and stalking to ensure that the student can overcome any difficult situation and therefore be an asset to his unit.
The course will cover the following (not exhaustive) topics:
- Basic rifle safety
- Basic rifle maintenance
- Rifle setup
- Positional shooting drills
- Theory of shooting
- The telescopic sight
- Basic ballistics
- Camouflage and concealment
- Stalking
- Application of fire 100-1,000 yards
- Moving target drills
NOTE* *This course is restricted to Mil/ LE and private contractors with valid credentials. Military ID and LE commission cards will be checked the first day of class. **
CLASS DETAILS
- Class Duration: 3-2 or 5 day
- Weapons Required: Service Rifles
- Ammunition: Minimum of 300 rds
- Web Gear: Issued service gear or suitable alternative
- Suitable attire: To include uniform or suitable equivalent (Clothing to be suitable for the time of year.)
- Steno Pad, Pen: Notes may need to be taken
